SOUTH AMERICA HAS IT ALL
The popularity of South America as a tourist destination could be set to explode as adventure travel becomes even more common in 2011.
This is the opinion of newly-formed Patagonian tourism specialist Swoop Travel, which explained that Brits are now seeking excitement that takes them away from their humdrum lives in the UK and off to exciting foreign lands.
Travel insurance customers seeking such destinations could head to South America, with Ecuador, Chile, Argentina and Brazil all likely to be popular destinations in 2011.
Spokesman Luke Errington noted that a recent report by travel group TUI showed that adventure travel could grow in popularity by as much as 190 per cent over the next three years.
It also revealed that people will be 303 per cent more likely to book an environmentally-friendly break in the next 36 months.
Popular excursions in South America include trips to the Valley of the Moon, Machu Picchu, and the Bolivian salt plains.
