Student wins trip to Ecuador
Learning regarding service to the world turned into a huge lottery for a teen from St. Albert. Paul Kane High School’s Grade 10 student Liam Kachkar was in Calgary along with a school group for a We Day event previous Thursday. Among all activities and presentations, there was a special draw. Among of the 18000 people who came in, Liam Kachkar won a tour to Ecuador for himself, a teacher as well as 3 of his friends.
Ecuador to expand tourism

20 members of the Spanish Club of Waverly High School have been working hard raising money this school year for a summer tour to Ecuador, said advisors Monica Olsen and Alicia Dallman. Alicia told that they selected Ecuador for several reasons.

Ecuador to help banana producers in crop shift
In the World Banana Summit, Ecuador Deputy Agriculture Minister Luis Valverde told that replacing banana with other trees like teak might improve national productivity.
A leading newspaper reported that at present some crops are planted on soils which are not suitable for the development of the fruit. Ministry reports from 2011 shows that Ecuador brings out around 1200 boxes bananas per hectare in a year on average.
